About Me
Areas of Focus
As an editor, I specialize in development, humanitarian, and global health issues. I mainly work with international nongovernmental organizations, government agencies, national and local nongovernmental organizations, and academics.
I’m most interested in what makes us healthy and unhealthy as individuals and as a society. This includes—for example—the social determinants of health, sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response, health and health care during humanitarian emergencies, and development that is sustainable in every sense.
Beyond Editing
While I mainly work as an editor, I also have experience in writing for print and online and in coaching the staff of nongovernmental organizations in writing. Reach out to talk more!
Experience and Education
I’ve worked as a copyeditor for a decade with a diverse range of clients. They include (among many others) Equimundo, the International Rescue Committee, UNDP, MenEngage Alliance, the Prevention Collaborative, Raising Voices, Coqual, USAID, and ILO.
I’ve also worked with academics based in Europe and Asia and with professional associations (such as the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Consumer Technology Association), with a particular interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I); environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues; and technological and frugal innovation.
I have an M.S. in global health policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as a B.A. in journalism and Spanish from the University of Kentucky. I’ve also recently finished a certificate program in editing from the University of California, Berkeley (2022).
Personal
I’m from the United States and live in Lithuania with my husband, three daughters, and cat. Before Vilnius, we lived in Latvia, Germany, Russia, and Egypt. In my free time, I like quilting, reading about history (particularly on the US, Eastern Europe, and the Baltics), and visiting interesting landmarks, like those found on Atlas Obscura.
